The quiet and peaceful village of Toward has the perfect fusion of country and coastal living and offers stunning views of Cumbrae and Bute with Arran in the distance. The village is located approximately 7 miles along the shore road from Dunoon, Cowal’s capital town, which boasts two supermarkets, local shops and hairdressers aplenty, several cafes, restaurants and take-aways, offering a range to suit all tastes and budgets, plenty of pubs, two leisure centres, numerous golf, bowling, tennis and sailing clubs, a two-screen cinema, a local museum and a concert venue. There are also ample schools, churches, medical surgeries, dentists, a hospital and a veterinary practice. In addition, there are two ferry links to Gourock with rail and coach links meaning that Glasgow city centre is little more than an hour away, with Glasgow International Airport, Braehead Shopping Centre and Greenock even closer.

Directions
From Dunoon, take the A815 through Innellan to the village of Toward. Shortly after you enter Toward you reach a point where the road veers to the right but there is separate road to the left. Take the road to the left and continue towards the lighthouse; Old Pier House can be found at the entrance to Lighthouse Road.

Description
Old Pier House was originally built as a showhome in a proposed development being built to house the visitors that the new Toward Pier would bring. The pier, however, never attracted the traffic that was hoped, hence the house was never extended thus resulting in the unique shape of the property. In subsequent years the house has served the community as a post office and shop before being transformed into the beautiful residential dwelling it is now.
The main entrance to the property is via the outer storm doors to the vestibule and on to a charming and very welcoming reception hallway which provides access to the formal sitting and dining rooms and the stairs to the upper floor, with the staircase boasting a striking glass balustrade. The kitchen, utility room with wine cellar, back bedroom / study and en-suite shower room are all at the rear of the lower floor with direct access to the garden from the study.
The upper floor boasts a splendid master bedroom / lounge with gorgeous views through the triple aspect windows, a second double bedroom with en-suite shower room, a third upstairs double bedroom and a luxurious family bathroom. An external staircase from the upper hallway descends to the driveway at the side of the house, ideal for guests to take luggage straight to their rooms.
The current owners have updated and upgraded the already magnificent property with top quality fixtures and fittings throughout whilst retaining the wonderful period features that adorn the home, which also boasts plenty of storage cupboards and wardrobes and an abundance of natural light streaming in through the many windows, which are a combination of double and triple glazed.

Gardens and Driveway
The gardens to Old Pier House are beautifully landscaped and tended and offer many different seating areas to enjoy the beautiful surroundings whilst entertaining family or friends, or simply relaxing with a morning coffee. Laid mainly to lawn and with privacy hedging and plethora of colourful trees, plants and shrubs, the back garden is fully enclosed and, as such, perfect for children and / or pets to play in complete safety. A timber outhouse, potting shed, garage / workshop and drying area complete the back garden. The small front garden is low maintenance and kept colourful and interesting with chipped stones, potted plants and a feature timber fence. The driveway is situated to the side of the property and has space for several vehicles to park in front of the garage.
